Forest Row entertained Belsize village on Sunday. Belsize won
the toss and elected to field. After losing Westmuckett (4) early,
Britt & Dee saw Row to 51 – when Britt (18) was caught
behind. Barnett (0) then fell, though in-form Jackson came to
join Dee. They added 71, with Dee playing some De-lightful shots,
to raise is maiden fifty. When Dee De-parted for 57, N Divall
(2) then followed. Trench joined Jackson, to increase the tempo.
Jackson passing his 2nd fifty of the weekend – as the pair
battered the bowling to all parts. Trench thrashed 34, as Jackson
neared his ton. Deprived of strike, he fell six runs short on
the stroke of tea. Row racking up 247-6.
In reply, Belsize didn’t attempt to threaten a run chase.
MJ Keeler & Ward opened up, with Keeler bowling Williamson
(2) – Ward bowling Praful (6) & Aamer (2). Their umpires
appeared to come out to block as well – even a full toss
on the back leg in front was adjudged ‘not out’. Bowling
to 8-1 offside fields, tempted a few swings by Ewing (50). Barnett
and Britt (who later switched to left arm) picked up a wicket
a piece – Belsize ground out the draw, which they had set
their sights on.
