TODAY IS:

Forest Row, in partnership with Douche, visited Chipstead & Coulsdon for their last game of the season. Row won the toss and elected to bat, found they were soon up against it when facing Dombrandt & Hogg. Their accuracy and movement kept Row tied down – and rewarded with the wicket of Westmuckett (0). Neil Divall was next in. helping Britt to add 46 for the 2nd wicket. Playing in his customary style, looked to belt the bowling to the boundary and clearing it. He fell miss-timing a pull to square leg for a fine 37. This dismissal prompted a mini collapse as Gaunt (0), then MJ Keeler (0) opted to hit across the bowling of Hagenaard – and witnessed their stumps re-arranged. Mason (5) promoted up the order, chanced his arm – only to fall in the same fashion. When Murray Divall (8) was dismissed by the leg spin of Walters, Row were in trouble at 69-6. Jones (26) joined Britt in a stand of 44, as the slump was arrested and the counter attack was on. Keelers senior help add a further 39 when Britt was stumped for a gritty 48. Keeler made 20 as Row were able to declare on a respectable 170-9.

In reply, Row needed to make inroads and M. Divall made them. He bowled Fitzpatrick (10) and Burroughs (1). Betts joined Heal, taking the score from 25-2 in relative comfort – until the introduction of N. Divall castled Heal (24). Betts (18) and Prashar (16) raised 15, when N. Divall accepted a return catch to place his (man) Betts – back in the pavilion. He & Britt combined to run out Hagenaard (16) after a rain interlude. Although there were wickets for late call up Tyrrell and Jones – game was heading for a draw, with insufficient time for either side to force a result.
