Forest Row, in partnership with Douch, visited Hartfield on Sunday. Put into bat, Britt & Westmuckett battled against the swing of Ball & Fiddler. Britt nudged and steered as the pair passed the fifty mark. Westmuckett (20) took on the spin of Medhurst with three boundaries – to then fell to Willis, with the score on 78. Britt (37) was dismissed next over, though Mike Dee’s brisk 20 set the tone for Horlock and Tobin. Both taking full toss on the friendlier change bowling in an unbroken stand of 109. Horlock registered his maiden fifty, whilst Tobin (47*) ran out of time to complete his. Row racking up an impressive 221-3 at tea.

In reply, Row opened with Ward & Gaunt. Ward struck early to dismiss Murray-Willis (12). S. Fiddler & Ball (16) paired up again. They added 44 – when Gaunt struck – Ball caught behind by MJ Keeler. Gaunt then bowled Manger (2) on 77-3. Mason, then Dee both picked up a brace, though it was dropped chances – notably off Jackson, which allowed Hartfield to escape with a draw. Fiddler batted through for a grafting 68.
