TODAY IS:

Forest Row, sponsored by Flora Pro Activ, visited Horsham 3rd’s in the league on Saturday. Horsham won the toss and elected to field. Row got off to a bad start at 1-1, were soon reduced to 34-4 upon Wycherley’s (16) dismissal. Neil Divall and Richard Woodward came together, taking the attack back to Horsham. Woodward looked in fine touch when he fell for 38, during a stand of 68. Divall continued to work the bowling around with fine support from Farncombe (11), then Paul Rowe (15), in raising his first fifty of the season. Divall was then stumped next ball. Row fell 2 runs shy of maximum batting points – Edwards remained unbeaten on 19 when Row were bowled out.

In reply, so confident of victory, Horsham’s eventual no.5 was already changed to go home! Although Divall had bowled Rogers (12), Baker and Ware added 63 in relative comfort. Jackson’s spin however, gained the breakthrough – bowling Ware (38). Rowe’s 2nd spell yielded a return catch from Baker (39). Divall’s return had Ovington (22) caught by Rowe. On 140-4, Horsham were comfortably placed still – until Divall began to blow them away with a 4 wicket burst. When Rowe had bowled Larvell (0), Horsham were tottering on 145-9. The tension mounted as Williams threatened another bizarre twist with 14*. Divall however, then bowled Hoskins (7) to finish with 7-32 and Row victors by 4 runs.
