Sam in the runs at last
Another 50 for Martin

A weakened Row travelled to Maresfield to play a 40 over a side game. Paul Rowe and Sam Edwards opened after Maresfield won the toss and batted. They faced an immediate onslaught from Lucas and Cooke. Forced to go on the defensive and the new ball lost, the batsmen hit and edged away in a stand of 120. This was broken, when Adam Webb had Lucas well caught by Williams in the deep for 60. Sam Edwards’s 2nd spell, yielded the wicket of Cooke caught by Paul Rowe, 10 short of a bludgeoning ton. Aldred (47) and Wall (45) smashed and slogged – until a brace from Edwards and Britt helped restrict Maresfield to a mere 297-6.

In reply, Britt and Phil Rowe opened, with Rowe (4) falling on 26. Edwards joined Britt, constructing a partnership that kept Row in the hunt. Edwards was first to fifty soon followed by Britt. The pair added 116, when Britt was caught & bowled by Cooke for 56. Edwards soon perished for a thumping 63. Assisted by 34 extras and a personal best of 15* by Stokes, saw Row past 200 and gave some form of respectability.

Maresfield 297-6 (40) Cooke 90, Lucas 60
Edwards 9-0-72-3, Britt 9-1-44-2

Forest Row 201-9 (40) Edwards 63
Britt 56, Extras 34, Lucas 8-1-32-4, Wall 4-1-13-2
