Forest Row IIs recorded their fourth win in Stoner League division

Fine five wickets win over Roffey IV on Saturday. Row bowling
first, made a great start when Jamie Brownlie had A. Riddle (0)
caught behind in the first over. A. Light (39) and K. Greenwood
(28) put on a solid 65 run stand before Simon Trench struck having
Greenwood caught by Simon Shreeve. When Trench removed top scorer
Light soon after, the game was finely balanced, with Roffey on
75-3. N. Dunn (29) and J. Williams (22) played some fine shots,
and kept the scoreboard ticking over, but when they were dismissed
the Row bowlers began to work their way through a mostly youthful
tail. Simon Shreeve, Graham Rowe grabbed two wickets, before Brownlie
finished the tail off with two more wickets to dismiss Roffey
for 157 by tea.
In reply, Row stumbled, losing three wickets with just 40 on
the board,
Before Graham Rowe (23) and Simon Trench (86no) steadied the innings.
Once
Trench had patiently played his way in, he soon began smashing
the ball to
All parts of the ground. After Rowe was dismissed, Trench received
stubborn
Support from Neil Phillips (6). Together they were taking the
run rate to
Around 10 an over. Roffey bowlers were not to be underestimated,
and a good swinging ball from J Williams, saw Phillips' off stump
rattled. With Trench rocketing away past 50, and superb support
from Glen Taylor (13no), Row knocked off the
Total with 15 overs to spare. Youngster Josh Morris was the pick
of the Roffey bowling with 3-26 off 5 overs.
