TODAY IS:

Forest row, sponsored by Flora pro activ, entertained St Peters, in a rearranged fixture. Row won the toss & elected to bat. Britt (18) & Dan Hyde (21) opened for Row on a slow-ish pitch. Found scoring a challenge against some feisty bowling. Waiting for the loose ball, they added 40, when Britt was caught at the wicket, cutting. A mix up, witnessed Hydes demise – run out. His partner, Paul Rowe (6) perished soon after to a stunning catch at mid off. S Edwards looked to get after the bowling, when a miss timed drive witnessed him caught at mid on. N Divall joined Westmuckett, adding 59, Divall was starting to find the boundary, when he too perished to a sensational catch at mid off. B Edwards cameo of 23-helped keep up the tempo. As tea loomed, Westmuckett opened up at the end to finish 29* & row 174-7 at tea.

In reply, Ward made an immediate breakthrough, having Townley (0) caught behind. A stand of 53 was then realised between Smith and Mess. Young gaunt, made a mess of the stand by taking a stinging return catch. Mess, c&b 30. Then cleaned up Comber (0). Green joined Smith, in an enterprising stand of 60. Smith moved serenely on to 75 when Hyde took a stunning catch & bowled to dismiss him. Hyde & ward combined to run out green (14). With the score on 122-5, the game was evenly poised, when knight strode to the crease. He put Row to the sword as his blade cut through the bowling. Coupled with some superb running, saw St Peters home by 5 wickets.
