Forest Row, sponsored by flora Pro Activ, visited Unicorns at Hickman’s Lane, Lindfield. With a damp wicket and slow outfield, winning the toss and bowling would be a distinct advantage. Unicorns won and duly inserted Row. Britt and Jackson opened for Row, and found the going hard. Glennon, bowling an immaculate line. Britt put on 23 with Jackson, when Jackson (6) was bowled by Pollock. Phil Rowe (3) joined Britt to add 47, as the tempo slowly increased against the change bowlers. N. Divall (19) helped the scoring on its upward curve, as Britt raised his fifty. The pair realised 42, when Divall was superbly caught by the keeper, off Moss. M.Divall (4) was also dismissed by Moss – done by the (lack of) pace! Westmuckett (3) sacrificed his wicket in a mix up, after adding 18. The ‘in-form’ White (14*) joined Britt to add 33 and with one over before tea, Britt was at the non-strikers end on 99. White gleaned a single and Britt duly brought up his maiden ton. Row declared on 175-5.

In reply, the balance between bat and ball had tilted toward the home side. With a dry and relatively flat wicket, Eyles and Pollock were able to get off to a good start against Paul Rowe and Sam Edwards. The Divall brothers were soon pressed into service. Neil was unplayable and unlucky. However, it was Murray who made the breakthrough with the score on 75, bowling Pollock (30). Five runs later, Eyles (32) played on to him and ‘Row were back in the match. M. Divall bowled with superb control, as he began collecting wickets for his efforts. Upon bowling dangerman Brazier to give him his sixth and club best figures, Divall went one further, when Jackson pull off a lighting quick stumping to dismiss Vramis (3) and give Divall a new all time best of 7-35. Unfortunately, with one wickets falling at the other end, Row couldn’t force a win in a highly entertaining match – which has become the norm between the two sides.

Scores: Forest Row 175-5(38) Britt 102*, N.Divall 19, White 14*
Moss 6-1-19-2

Hove Unicorns 152-7(40) Eyles 32, Pollock 30
