Forest Row, in partnership with Douche, travelled to Hove to play West Blatchington. WB won the toss and elected to bat on a greenish looking wicket. ‘Row were given the perfect start when MJ Keeler had Westgate (4) caught behind by Tobin, 3rd ball. Agnoriti should be gone 1st ball. Tobin just failing to grasp a difficult chance just short of his reach. Agnoriti made full use of this escape by unfurling some delightful shots around the wicket – particularly off his legs. Keeler accepted a return chance off Donner (18), though McKenzie set his stall out with Agnoriti in a commanding stand. ‘Rows bowlers, struggling in the damp and windy conditions, were picked off throughout – the large and fast outfield aiding the scoring of the batsmen. M Divall’s persistence was rewarded with Agnoriti holing out to Westmuckett at long on – only after a scintillating 78. Tobin was relieved of the gloves and can on to bowl. He collected 3-33, including McKenzie for a fine, though not sublime 84. WB totalled 234-6 at tea – leaving Row a tough run chase – should they accept.

With conditions turning against Row, Britt and Jackson opened. With darkening skies and on and off light drizzle, scoring would become more and more difficult-as the outfield slowed up. The only plus point being that WB would be slightly disadvantaged with the ball. The pair took a couple of overs to adjust to the conditions, and then batted in positive style, as the stand past 50. Britt found his touch and was in full flow – raising his fifty with a sweetly pulled 6. WB’s attack became increasingly frustrated, as the stand past the 100 mark. They managed only 14 overs before the last 20 – thus ensuring the target was beyond reach. Alex finally broke through as Jackson miss-timed a drive – caught for a fine 38, ending a stand of 151. Dee (0) soon fell in the failing light. Westlake (1) added 17 with Britt when the former was stumped off Westgate. Jordan joined Britt who raised his 2nd ton with a clip for two. The pair added an unbroken 37, as Row ran out of time. Row finished just 25 runs short. Jordan, unbeaten on 21 and Britt - for a new best of 117.

Scores: West Blatchington 234-6(41) McKenzie 84, Agnoriti 78, Tobin 6-0-33-3
MJ Keeler 8-0-25-2
Forest Row 209-3 (34) Britt 117*, Jackson 38, Jordan 21*
